NHRI Research Wins UNL's Dissertation of the Year Award
Posted on 06/04/2012Dr. Lindsay Hastings, director of NHRI and primary investigator in the research study, "Generativity in Young Adults: Comparing and Explaining the Impact of Mentoring," has won the Dr. Ron Joekel Research Award at UNL. Using a highly-impressive mixed methods approach (essentially, using both quantitative and qualitative research methods), Dr. Hastings found that NHRI students have higher generative concern, commitment, and action than their peers. Thus, the impact of mentoring relationships has empirically proven to have positive effects on society-- ripples!
The Dr. Ron Joekel Research Award is an honor recognizing outstanding research conducted by a University of Nebraska-Lincoln Education graduate student. Dr. Joekel is a long-standing Phi Delta Kappa member who has served in a multitude of leadership roles including Chapter President, Chapter Advisor, and International Director of PDK.
