Counselor Selection

NHRI takes enormous pride in its counselors and its ability to develop the finest leadership talent on this University's campus. The reason NHRI has been so fortunate to have such outstanding college students over 60 years is not by chance or luck. The process for selecting counselors is long, somewhat rigorous, and thorough so that NHRI is able to maintain quality counselors in the future just as it has in its distinguished history.
Our best counselors are the most qualified to identify outstanding talent. Therefore, we recruit new counselors largely through recommendation by other NHRI counselors, alumni, and/or distinguished faculty. Once a potential counselor is identified, he/she goes through an orientation. If the potential counselor decides he/she is willing to commit to the demands of an investment relationship with a young person, he/she is taken through a selection interview designed to identify his/her strengths and talents.
2012 Information Sessions will begin on Wednesday, January 18th at 8 pm in the City Campus Union (the room will be posted under "NHRI Orientation"). Orientations will continue to take place every Wednesday night at 8 pm until March 14th, 2012.
