Reflections…

NHRI Friends and Alumni,

The Nebraska Human Resources Research Foundation Board of Directors and NHRI Staff are pleased to report that things are better than ever at NHRI. As you may recall, in January of 2010, NHRI officially became part of the University’s Ag Leadership, Education, and Communication (ALEC) Department. The ALEC Department saw enormous value in NHRI’s work and both parties saw an alignment of missions. Being an integrated part of a University department now has made such a difference for NHRI. Faculty and University administrators have a much closer relationship to NHRI, which provides NHRI the opportunity to seek research collaborations and realize greater program support.

We are also pleased to announce that NHRI had a second year of unprecedented recruitment numbers. Starting in the fall, 2010, NHRI will have another new project, Park Project. Similar to the Lux/East Project (which was started in fall, 2009), the junior counselors for Park Project will be graduates of the Priceless Preteen Leadership Program (NHRI’s summer leadership program for outstanding local preteen leaders) who will be attending Park Middle School.

In the past two years, NHRI has initiated two new projects and has grown by over 20%. NHRI now impacts more student leaders every year than any other leadership entity on campus at the University. We are pleased to report that NHRI is in a prime position for growth and has been able to successfully weather a transition into a new University department.

We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to all of you who provided support to NHRI last year. NHRI has been able to successfully develop the talents of young leaders for over 60 years because of dedicated patrons like you!
